Bobby Au-Yeung has been nominated for the ‘Best Performance by an Actor Award’ for his performance in ‘Dicey Business’ at the 35th Annual International Emmy Awards. The actor left for America, yesterday morning, accompanied by his wife. During a brief interview, Bobby expressed that he was quite nervous and that he only had one in five chances of winning the award but he hopes to take home the award to celebrate Sir. Shaw’s 100th birthday. Bobby’s biggest opponent for the award is English Oscar Award winner, Jim Broadbent.
The actor then revealed that he had tipped Moses Chan to win this year’s Best Actor Award at the TVB 40th Anniversary Award Ceremony and so, his confidence has not been shattered. Bobby commented, “Every year I film 2 to 3 series but I have to leave a quota to the Emmys this year.”
On the other hand, Bobby disclosed that he had been so moved by Joyce Cheng’s voice on the night that his eyes began to tear. Bobby said, “I watched her grow up. When we were filming ‘A Recipe for Heart’, she was still a kid.” As Lydia Shum had to leave quickly after the show, he did not have a chance to talk to her, thus making him quite sad.
