Anita Yuen (袁詠儀), Michael Miu (苗僑偉) and Mandy Cho (曹敏莉) introduce their characters at the costume fitting session for new TVB series Suspicious Love <疑情別戀>, 16 November 2007, Hong Kong. The series marks the Anita's return to TVB after 15 years away.
Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) joined Michael Miu (苗僑偉), Angela Tong (湯盈盈), Krystal Tin (田蕊妮), Mandy Cho (曹敏莉) and Tracy Ip (葉翠翠) yesterday for the costume fitting session of new series Suspicious Love <疑情別戀> at TVB City.
It has been 15 years since Anita left TVB and she admitted that she is finding it hard to adapt, but she was chatting away to Michael to try and get some advice. She said that she is worried about the differences between filming movies and TV series and although she has experienced last minute script changes in the past, she finds it very hard to accept. However, this is common practice in television, so she will see it as a challenge. With start of filming imminent, Anita said that she is yet to receive the whole script for the series. She also laughed that the crew have told her not to wander around in TVB City too much until she has learned the routes, just in case she gets lost.
Anita revealed that she has made a number of stipulations in accepting this project, including clauses on no rumour-mongering and a maximum of 12 hours filming time to be scheduled for her each day. She said she does not mind doing the odd hour or two extra every now and then, but to do it consistently would be unacceptable because she is not as young any more. When it was mentioned that even TVB Big Sis Liza Wang (汪明荃) can put up with the conditions, Anita smiled that this is the reason why she cannot be a "big sis" because it is not easy.
Anita has also requested for her own make-up artist to join her on set. The reason for this is because she does not know how to put on her own make-up and does not want to give the impression of being overly demanding.
Working with some of her Miss Hong Kong successors, Mandy and Tracy, Anita laughed that if it was not for the reporters reminding her, she almost forgot that she was a Miss Hong Kong winner herself. She was full of compliments for her juniors, saying that they are both beautiful and intelligent. Asked about the reports that the standards of Miss Hong Kong winners is falling, Anita said that in the past, many winners had the opportunity to make films, but now with the industry in decline, they have no choice but to settle for TV work. She recalled that when she won the title, she received criticism for being unladylike and rough around the edges, but she pointed out that Miss Hong Kong is not representative of anything other than being the most beautiful woman on the night of the competition. She added that on 18 August 1990, she was the most beautiful one, but on the 19 August, this may not have been the case. Asked what her most redeeming quality is, Anita replied that she is not the kindest or most beautiful person, but she is definitely the most direct.
Angela was spotted earlier by reporters repeatedly hugging several men in Taiwan. She clarified that these men were friends whom she has known since she was 16 years old and she was very pleased to see them again, so they shared many warm embraces. She also pointed out that they were three brothers and they each had their wives with them. She herself has not yet found the right man yet and has been single for a while, so she is finding it a little boring.
Tracy felt honoured to be able to film with Anita and she recalled a shoot they had done together previously that suffered 50 retakes, but Anita was very patient with the situation. With Anita announcing that she she would be very angry if anyone was late, Tracy said that she would also be annoyed, but she would not express her feelings quite as openly.
